Poem: Salutation to the Dawn ~ Favorite Photos

Look to this day:

For it is life, the very life of life.

In its brief course

Lie all the verities and realities of your existence.

The bliss of growth,

The glory of action,

The splendor of achievement

Are but experiences of time.

For yesterday is but a dream…And tomorrow is only a vision;

And today well-lived, makes

Yesterday a dream of happiness

And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well therefore to this day;

Such is the salutation to the ever-new dawn!

  • Absolutely beautiful photos and poems! Thanks for sending.

    Our cruise was fabulous. The food was amazing w/8 venues to choose from. I had Dover Sole most of the time; and, the best Prime Fillet Mignon I have ever tasted! Basically, one feels like Royalty with our own Butler servicing me breakfast in my room at appointed times each a.m. I could peacefully read the WSJ and fill my self w/delicious croissants, sliced kiwi, mango, pineapple along with an herb omelet and hot coffee. Pure Indulgence. It is difficult to come back to reality on so many levels. The unpacking is the worst along w/the mail and over 700 emails, bills to be paid and doctor’s visits. Roy went on the cruise w/a cough and came home with it. I caught it and went to the clinic 5 times. We had insurance that should cover it. Roy would not go to the clinic—he is still coughing and now has pneumonia that per a CT scan and blood work today is getting much better. As a result of my catching it from him, I got A-Flutter (rapid heartbeat) and had it for 11 days and was going to be cardio converted on 3/20/26 but I converted on my way to the hospital, Praise be to God!! I have this condition, but it seldom appears and never lasts that long. They think it was the lingering infection in my system.

    On the cruise we signed up for another glorious cruise to Japan in April 2027; however, Roy insisted we cancel it this past weekend. I will be 90 in May, so it makes sense. I am now depressed that we will never take another cruise as much as we love them. The thing is, Roy brought the cough w/him and did not catch it on the ship. Oh well, we have great memories.

    I hope all is well with you and that you continue to travel.

    Love, Donna
